The Five Days to Train Within plan is a free, five-day Mental Fitness practice from Forte. Each day you train one PACER rhythm, Pause, Act with Purpose, Connect, Engage, and Restore, for about 10 minutes, and finish with one small action. There is no app to install and nothing to buy.
Mental Fitness is proactive training of your inner life. Like physical fitness, it is built through small, consistent reps, not one big effort. This plan is one week of those reps. Here is a quick overview of how it works.
- PACER names five rhythms you can practice at work, at home, and everywhere in between: Pause, Act with Purpose, Connect, Engage, and Restore.
- Each day takes about 10 minutes and follows the same loop: Reflect, Envision, Practice, and Check in.
- Every day ends with one small action, and a short wrap-up at the end helps you keep what worked.
- The plan is free. Enter your name and email and it downloads instantly.

What Is PACER?
PACER is Forte's rhythm for practicing Mental Fitness in ordinary days. It stands for five practices, and the plan gives each one a day:
- Pause: the deliberate stop between what happens and how you respond.
- Act with Purpose: letting your values guide your choices and actions.
- Connect: turning toward others with real attention and care.
- Engage: bringing your full presence to what is in front of you.
- Restore: renewing body, mind, and spirit on purpose.
None of these are new ideas. What is new for most people is practicing them on purpose, on a schedule, with a small action attached. That is the difference between knowing you should slow down and actually training it. It is also the same reasoning behind Mental Fitness itself: proactive training, built before you are in crisis.
How Each Day Works
Every day follows the same four-step loop, spread across your day so it never takes more than about 10 minutes in total.
- Reflect (morning, 3 minutes): read the day's rhythm and answer a question about where you are now.
- Envision (midday, 3 minutes): picture yourself a few weeks from now and answer a question about what could be different.
- Practice: set one small action for the day, and do it.
- Check in (evening, 3 minutes): learn from the practice. What happened, what went well, what did not, and which domain of Mental Fitness did it work?
Five days is enough to notice something. Next week is where it starts to stick.
Five Days to Train WithinWhat's Inside the Plan
Five days, five rhythms, one per day: Pause on Day 1, Act with Purpose on Day 2, Connect on Day 3, Engage on Day 4, and Restore on Day 5. Each day has its own reflection questions and a small action, and a short wrap-up at the end helps you keep what worked. Mental Fitness is best practiced with others, so the plan is easy to share with a friend or a team.

What Comes After Five Days
Five days is a start, not a finish. PACER is a rhythm you can return to for the rest of your life, and the hardest part is consistency. That is where Forte comes in: a real human Coach, structured exercises, and a system that keeps the reps coming. If you want to keep training, start as an individual, or book a demo to see how Forte trains Mental Fitness across a team or organization.
